1934 Gibson Cromwell G4 Archtop
Gibson produced guitars under several brand names like Kalamazoo and Cromwell, to help fill out their production capacity during the lean years of the depression. These guitars were similar to Gibson models, but built using lighter construction and less costly processes.
This is 1934 Gibson / Cromwell G4 pre-dates the catalogue versions of these guitars. It has a pressed laminate top, with maple back and sides, Rosewood fretboard and its original tuners, tail piece and bridge. It’s got ‘Gibson’ to the headstock which is even cooler – a real rarity indeed!
The guitar is in fantastic condition, especially considering it is 92+ years old. There is a small loss of finish to the top of the headstock, play wear to the side of the neck, lots of light scratches to the back, and some small marks to the top (see last 8 pictures), however overall the guitar really is in good condition. We have reflected the condition in the price. The guitar comes complete with a rather nice period hard case too.
