Black Rose is probably the best known of the Framus Archtops - handmade in Germany in the 1950s the guitar has arched back and top, with a single rounded cutaway. The top is solid Spruce, with the back and sides laminated Maple. The Mahogany neck has an Ebony fretboard with red binding to the neck and headstock. The guitar is all original including 3 on-a-strip tuners, floating bridge and tail piece with Black-Rose-De-Luxe engraving- although it is missing its original scratch plate.
The guitar is in superb condition with only some light marks to the top, back and top of the headstock to show for its 70+ years of play. The guitar is setup with a new set of Dragon Skin strings and has nice low action – the guitar comes complete with a padded gig bag.
