1960s Harmony Sovereign H1203

Harmony was one of the most successful guitar makers in the USA, manufacturing most all of their guitars in Chicago during the peak years in the mid-1960s. Founded in 1892 by Wilhelm Schultz a German immigrant from Hamburg they made circa 10,000,000 instruments before their demise in 1975.

The Sovereign brand was the top of the line guitar for Harmony and it shows - features all solid wood construction; a Spruce top, Mahogany back, sides and neck, a Rosewood (Brazilian?) fret board with dot inlays and a Rosewood bridge. These Concert/OOO sized Harmony's are a steal for a vintage solid wood guitar, they are very responsive and produce a very well balanced tone.

This guitar has been well played over the years with some play wear evident just above the scratch plate and a couple of marks to the top (see last 3 pictures). Overall the guitar is in great condition – we have reset the neck (a must for these vintage Harmony guitars) and added new nut and saddle, so action is spot on and the guitar is setup to play on for another 60 years. Includes original fibreboard hard case.
