Product Details

The Congress was the guitar that started Hank Marvin on his way to fame. With the serial number of 14320 dating this Hofner Congress guitar to 1964 this is a really nice example of this Selmer imported Hofner model.

Despite its age the guitar is in really good condition. It does have some small wear marks to the rear edge of the body and, loss of finish to the top of the headstock and some very small marks to the top (see last 9 pictures), however the overall condition is very good. The guitar is all original, including its tuners, bridge and scratch plate, but it is missing its Hofner logo from the headstock.

The neck has been reset (as we do with almost all our vintage Hofners) so the guitar is ready to play on for another 62+ years. Setup with a new set of strings on board and perfect action – room to move the floating bridge up or down to suit your play. The guitar comes complete with original Selmer case that does have all its catches and hinges present and working, although the case does have quite a bit of gaffa tape around the ages.
