1967 Yamaha FG-180 (Nippon Gakki Red Label)
1967 Yamaha FG-180 – Red Label Nippon Gakki – Made in Japan - our favourite vintage acoustic guitars - great value for money and always well sought after.
Dreadnought-style body, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck with 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and three-per-side nickel-plated tuners.
Often described as the “poor man’s Martin” – the Yamaha FG 180 possibly started more of the careers of aspiring singer songwriters during the 1970’s than any other guitar. This is the earliest one we have had in the shop with bell shaped truss cover and YAMAHA on the face of the headstock. And the guitar is in great condition considering its 58+ years – there are some dings/indents marks to the top, and some tiny marks to the side sides and back (see last 7 pictures) - fretboard and frets are in great shape - The action is nice with the saddle still having some room. The guitar comes complete with its original Japanese made hard case.
