1977 Gibson RD Standard – Natural – Original Hard Case
A superb and increasingly hard-to-find 1977 Gibson RD Standard in its original Natural finish, presented in really good, all-original, condition throughout.
One of Gibson’s more distinctive late ’70s designs, the RD Standard combines classic Gibson humbucker tones with the model’s unique offset body shape and extended scale length (25.5”). The pickups are superb, providing exceptional clarity and low-end punch.
This 1977 model has clearly been very well cared for over its near 50-year life, showing only some light cosmetic play wear and minor age-related marks (see last 5 pictures). The guitar plays beautifully, with low action, a comfortable neck profile and excellent overall feel. Comes complete with its original Gibson hard case, with the 2 outside catches (of the 3) still in working order.
A fantastic vintage Gibson that’s becoming increasingly collectible while still offering superb everyday playability.
