Product Details

The T-60 was Peavey’s first solid body electric guitar, manufactured in the USA between 1978 and 1988. Whilst not gaining mass‑market popularity during its lifetime, the Peavey T‑60 has a cult following by guitarists who have discovered its many positive qualities. This early maple‑fingerboard example from the 2nd year of production is all original and in excellent condition.

The very early T‑60 models, as here, have Gotoh‑branded octagonal tuners, the ‘Patents Applied For’ designation on headstock and the solid black cover pickup inserts. Build quality is very good and gives the guitar an indestructible, built‑to‑last solid feel – weighing in at 4.5kg/10lb (because someone always asks…..). The natural satin finish with the black and chrome hardware is still a very cool look. The gloss Maple neck is slim, has a nice modern feel, and makes this T-60 a very playable guitar. The electrics are truly unique – you have the common 3-way pickup selector and individual volume controls, however, the tone controls blend from single coil to humbucker throughout their sweep and a phase switch adds even more tonal flexibility when both pickups are in use – a huge variety of sounds from one guitar.

The guitar is in excellent condition with only a small mark to the top of the headstock, a small scratch to the back and 2 small marks to the front to show for its 46+ years (see last 3 pictures). Guitar is all setup with a new set of DR Pure Blues 10s on board and the guitar comes complete with its original Peavey fitted hard case.
