1980 Fender Stratocaster - Hardtail
This is our favourite of all the big headstock Stratocasters we have in just now - partly due to the hard tail and partly due to the fantastic condition of the guitar with a real vibrancy to the colours in the sunburst finish.
Serial number comes back to 1979 but the pots tell us this is a 1980 built Fender. The guitar is all original, including; the 3 single coil pickups dating to '80; 3 original pots with 8020 pot codes; 5-way pickup selector; 2 string retainers; strap buttons; ‘F’ tuners, and the 3-ply scratch plate which still has sticker matching the serial number to that on the headstock. The pickups are perfectly balanced and sound fantastic. The Maple neck has a Rosewood fretboard which is in as good condition as the body with no real visible fret wear - strung with a new set of DR Blues 10s the guitar plays as good as it looks.
The guitar is in great condition with some tiny marks stopping us marking the guitar as mint (see last 4 pictures). The guitar comes complete with an original Fender hard shell case, however this looks to be an early/mid ‘70s case so will not be original to the guitar.
