The Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus debuted in 2002 as an option for those seeking a higher grade maple top. It features a Maple cap with a lot of figure, that extends across the entire length and width of the top, distinguishing it from the Standard model, which has a plain top.
In addition to the AAA Maple top this 2003 Les Paul Standard Premium Plus features the usual Mahogany body, ’60’s slim taper profile Mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard, high performance Burstbucker Pro pickups and a smaller, vintage-style headstock with Gibson Deluxe keystone tuners.
The guitar is finished in Wine Red which looks lovely over the tiger stripe top. The guitar is in fantastic condition with only some very small marks to show for its 23 years (see last 3 pictures). The frets and fretboard are in great condition with no real visible fret wear. The guitar comes complete with its original Gibson hard case.
