From of a limited Pilot run of twenty-four guitars which eventually became the CJ-165 model. It was produced by Gibson Master Luthier Ren Ferguson and is one of only twenty-four of its type made in February 2007. This original batch was made for sampling this first time cutaway design and was originally earmarked for artists, special Gibson guests and Gibson aficionados. The label is hand signed by Ren Ferguson and inscribed 'Pilot Run of 24'.
This acoustic-electric guitar has the same shape as Gibson's J-200, but with smaller dimensions. The back and sides are a beautiful natural figured maple with the top being AA-grade Sitka spruce. The maple neck has a lovely Rosewood fretboard with the traditional parallelogram inset fret markers and Nickel Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners.
Unlike the production model that followed this guitar has a (factory fitted) LR Baggs Element pickup with a discreet volume control on the inside edge of the sound hole.
The guitar is in mint condition and comes complete with its original Gibson Acoustics fitted hard case.
