Tokai's FB-60 is their take on the classic Firebird III design, featuring the instantly recognisable reverse body and reverse headstock, set-neck construction and a pair of Firebird-style mini-humbuckers - A seriously cool and increasingly hard-to-find guitar, in a striking Snow White finish, the FB-60 has the added attraction of being a proper set-neck instrument, rather than the bolt-on construction found on some of the less expensive Tokai Firebird models.
This is an early Asian-made example, with the serial number 070607 applied on a small decal to the rear of the headstock. The guitar has the distinctive original Tokai appointments, including the Tokai truss-rod cover, white Firebird pickguard with the red Firebird emblem, chrome hardware and original unbranded tuners. It is in great condition with the pearlescent Snow White finish in great shape – there is a couple of small dings to the rear bottom edge of the guitar, a tiny ding to the back, and one under the neck pickup. This FB-60 is a particularly good-playing Firebird-style guitar, with the two mini-humbuckers delivering the characteristic combination of clarity, bite and grunt that suits everything from clean and bluesy playing through classic rock and heavier overdriven sounds.
