This is a stunning and rare 2013 Gibson Custom Shop Hummingbird Custom Quilt. This amazing handcrafted guitar is 1 of only 30 made.
It features a Sitka Spruce top and highly figured AAA Quilt Maple back & sides all in an Autumn burst finish with Nitrocellulose lacquer and abalone binding and rosette. The mahogany neck has a 12" radius Rosewood fingerboard which includes beautiful Abalone Hummingbird & Butterfly Inlays, designed by Ren Ferguson during his time at Gibson. The hummingbird inlays continue on the custom headstock and Rosewood bridge, and in the Hummingbird and Vine pickguard detail. The detail on this guitar is fantastic – even the Grover tuner buttons have been engraved.
As we have come to expect with Gibson Hummingbirds the guitar sounds fantastic – both acoustically and through an amp thanks to the factory fitted LR Baggs pickup system. The guitar has barely been played and is in truly excellent condition – setup with a new set of Elixir 12s on board. The guitar comes complete with its original Gibson hard case – the case has obviously been stored separately from the guitar and does have a slightly musty smell to the inside.
