Founded in Canterbury, England, in 1995, Atkin Guitars has grown to become one of the UK’s leading acoustic guitar makers.
The Dust Bowl Series is inspired by some of the depression era guitars of the 1930’s. A lightweight all-mahogany body construction, scalloped braces, and soft-V neck carve that hugs your hand. The 16″ radius Indian Rosewood fingerboard with rounded-over edges makes ‘thumb-overtop’ playing easy and comfortable.
This Dust Bowl Parlor guitar has a full, rich and dry voice with enough of a push in the midrange to inspire any ragtime picker, while still giving plenty of warmth and openness across the strings to keep any player happy. It offers that ‘piano-like’ cavernous articulation in the bass end, and a sweet and well-rounded treble – we a mightily impressed with the huge sound from such a small body.
The guitar is in near mint condition with only a couple of small marks on the back of the body (see last picture) – the guitar comes complete with its original Atkins branded hard case and COA.
