Designed and hand made in his workshop in east London, Viv Wilcock’s range of short and medium scale basses are inspired by over 40 years of collecting, playing and a passion for the instrument, and with a definite nod to the Hayman 4040. He has collaborated with some of the world’s best players to deliver a range of simple, elegant basses designed for working musicians.
The Wilcock Mullarkey bass is the signature model of renowned bassist and producer Robin Mullarkey. Available in both short and medium scale this classic cream finished, Alder body, model is a 30” short scale bass. The electrics come in the shape of two custom wound Armstrong pickups controlled by a master vol/tone and a 3-way selector switch. The Maple neck has a very comfortable medium profile with a Maple fretboard, strung with a set of Dunlop flat wound strings. The chrome hardware includes Gotoh tuners and a Hipshot bridge. The bass comes complete with a high quality, Wilcock branded, semi-rigid padded gig bag.
The attention to detail is evident in all Wilcock bass guitars, but even more impressive is how easy they play and sound – if you can, it is well worth the trip to the shop to give one of these a play.
