Product Details

The Regal built Dobro Model 27 Resonator was the company's least expensive resonator and sold well. There are many versions of this model, with numerous differences in design occurring over the 1930s production run – the Michigan brand was used for export, mainly to the UK. This guitar features a birch plywood body, 12 fret round Mahogany neck, sunburst top finish, white bound top and back, screen soundholes, slotted headstock, and poinsettia coverplate. There is a great warmth to wooden body Resonators compared to the harsh metallic sound of the metal bodied Resonators. Famously Peter Green played a Michigan Resonator live in the early days of Fleetwood Mac.

The guitar is in great shape for a 90+ year old resonator – it does have plenty of small marks to the body, and playwear to the neck - as you would expect from a classic Delta Blues instrument of this age. The guitar appears to be all original, including the Kluson single line tuners. The guitar comes complete with its original croc skin fibreboard hard case – the case does have some Gaffa tape help around the hinges and to front edge of the top – still good for protecting the guitar in the house, but not the case to be taking to 2-3 gigs a week.
