1953 Gretsch Synchromatic 100 (Model 6014)
Manufactured between 1939 and 1955 the Gretsch Synromatic 100 is a 16” acoustic archtop guitar. In 1949, the Synchromatic was assigned the Model 6014 number and Sunburst finish became standard.
This fabulous sunburst finished example was made in circa 1953, is all original and in great condition. It has a double bound body, carved spruce top, arched maple back, maple sides, and two f-holes. The three-piece maple neck has a 25.5” scale, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with large block inlays, and a rounded top headstock. The stairstep bridge is a nod back to the 1930s, and it has the iconic Gretsch harp tailpiece. There are a few tiny marks to the top and body, and a bit of play wear to the treble side of the neck (see last 6 pictures), but great condition considering it is 73+ years old. Frets and fretboard in great condition, and the guitar has nice low action - comes complete with a suitable vintage period case.
