Product Details

Produced in Sweden from 1957 to circa 1976 the Levin Model 315 is cutaway archtop guitar from the top end of Levin’s range. This is a superbly impressive guitar with a 17 ¾“ lower bout and hand carved top & back – the top is 6-ply bound Spruce with 4-ply bound f-holes - The 4-ply bound back and sides are flamed Maple. The Mahogany neck has a 5-ply bound headstock with mother-of-pearl inlay, metal Levin truss rod cover and bound Ebony fret board with mother-of-pearl inlays.

Levin produced the Model 315 as an acoustic, as well as a single pickup model and a 2 pickup model. It looks like this one left the factory as an acoustic with the pickup and controls added at a later date. The pickup is a superb 1970s DiMarzio Super Distortion. The rest of the hardware looks to be all original including the very cool tail piece. The guitar is in great condition with no visible wear on the frets and fretboard. The top does have some scratches to the finish with some nice lacquer crazing to the top and the back of the guitar (see last 5 pictures). It has been setup with a new set of 11’s with nice easy playing low action. The guitar comes complete with its original hard case. A great example of this rare vintage archtop guitar.
