Product Details

The RS924 is a Roadster series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1980. It was produced in Japan, by the FujiGen factory in Matsumoto, until 1982. The RS924 features a double-cutaway solid ash body with bolt-on 24 fret maple neck with volute reinforcement and black dot position markers. The bass is equipped with Super (J/P-4) pickups controlled by the EQ-B2 passive-active correction system and the Accu-Cast B bridge with brass saddles. This model has a very cool pickup blender rather than a 3-way toggle switch giving you some nice tonal options. The neck is screwed using the experimental (at the time), and very stable, Quadra Lock system (four screws screwed into threaded sleeves pressed into the base of the neck).

This 1980 model is all original and in fantastic condition with no dings or scratches evident, and no visible fret wear. The top does have light plectrum marks either side of the pickups but nothing we could capture on the pictures, and there is some light buckle rash to the rear (see final picture). This bass guitar is no lightweight, tipping the scales at 5.1kg (someone always asks….). Comes complete with its original hard case.
