Paulino Bernabe was one of Spain's most respected guitar makers, establishing his own workshop in Madrid in 1969 after working with the famous Ramirez workshop. His guitars are renowned for their superb construction, powerful projection and beautiful tonal qualities, and have been played by some of the world's leading classical guitarists.
This 1999 Model 20 is a particularly lovely example, featuring Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with a German Spruce top. The guitar is in really good condition and has clearly been very well cared for, with a beautiful mature tone and the character you would expect from a well played-in Bernabe. There are some small marks to the finish which we have shown in the last 6 pictures.
The guitar comes complete with a good quality period hard case (probably original to the guitar), original receipt and a letter signed by Paulino Bernabe himself.
This Model 20 would make a fantastic instrument for the serious classical guitarist or a very nice addition to any collection of fine Spanish guitars.
