The Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus debuted in 2002 as an option for those seeking a higher grade maple top. It features a Maple cap with a lot of figure, that extends across the entire length and width of the top, distinguishing it from the Standard model, which has a plain top.
In addition to the AAA Maple top this 2006 Les Paul Standard Premium Plus features the usual Mahogany body, ’50’s style Mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard, high performance Burstbucker Pro pickups and a smaller, vintage-style headstock with Gibson Deluxe keystone tuners.
The guitar is finished in striking Iced Tea Burst over the highly figured Maple top. The guitar was purchased directly from City Centre Music in San Diego by a UK collector and has been in storage since it arrived in the UK – so the guitar is in absolute mint condition. It comes complete with its original Gibson USA hard case and scratch plate that has never been fitted to the guitar (no wonder as you wouldn’t want to cover up any of that top).
