This 2009 Les Paul Custom styled guitar has a Mahogany body, with a Maple cap, and is fitted with a Mahogany 628mm scale set neck with 22 fret Rosewood fretboard. The guitar is fitted with gold hardware including a Floyd Rose locking tremolo system - It is in mint condition and comes complete with TGI hard shell case. There is a small vacant hole on the treble side where the scratch plate bracket would have been fitted.
Burny Guitars was a guitar brand of Japanese marketing company Fernandes Co Ltd, making Gibson guitar replicas. Growing competition adversely affected sales, and the company reported debts of 434 million yen for the year ending January 2024. On 11 July 2024, Fernandes ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy.
Fernandes is probably best known for its Sustainer system, which uses electromagnetism to vibrate a string for an extended period, so long as the user continues to fret a note. Unlike the similar manual EBow sustainer, the Fernandes Sustainer can be used with a standard plectrum, because the sustainer is embedded in the body of guitar. The sustainer system is controlled by 2 micro switches – with the first switch the sustain can be turned on/off, and once it is turned on, you can use the other switch to fine-tune the frequency of the sustain. We had hours of fun playing with this when we were meant to be setting the guitar up……..
The Burny RLC-105s is a lot of guitar with high-end craftsmanship and finish, and with Fernandes now out of business these guitars, and the pickups, are no longer in production.
