James Trussart is one of these builders who has broken the rules of traditional guitar making. Working with steel as the primary material, he produces guitars that are as unique in appearance as they are in tone. Made in his workshop in Los Angeles his guitars have become 'must-have' instruments in the arsenals of influential artists including Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Joe Walsh, Jack White, Joe Perry, Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, and many, many more.
Whilst every guitar is unique, the quality of build, playability and tone is consistent in every Trussart guitar. This 2010 Rust O Matic SteelCaster has a perforated back, a ‘62 profile bolt on Maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard and Arcane Inc. Humbucker neck and Tele bridge pickups. The pickups are controlled by a traditional Telecaster control panel with 3-way pickup selector switch and single volume and tone controls. The remainder of the hardware is a set of Kluson Deluxe tuners and 3 saddle vintage bridge. The guitar is in fantastic condition (although how would you know if it wasn’t….) and comes complete with its original high quality G&G hard case.
