2016 Gibson Firebird V
The Gibson Firebird is one of the most distinctive and innovative guitars ever produced. Introduced in 1963, it was Gibson’s first neck-through-body guitar and featured a radical “reverse” body shape that set it apart from traditional designs. The Firebird’s unique construction, powerful mini-humbucker pickups, and striking aesthetic have made it a favourite among rock and blues guitarists - Johnny Winter, Warren Haynes and Lynyrd Skynyrd's Allen Collins to name but a few.
For us the Gibson Firebird V is a standout model in the Firebird series. This 2016 reissue features reverse-shape mahogany body with multi-piece mahogany/walnut through-neck; bound rosewood fingerboard with crown markers; Steinberger gearless banjo-style tuners; two Firebird mini-humbuckers; four knobs (volume and tone per pickup) and jack on body, regular three-way selector on pickguard; white pickguard with red firebird logo, and a Tune-o-matic bridge plus separate stopbar.
The guitar is in superb condition with only some very very light marks on the body stopping us marking this as mint condition (too light to pick up on camera). Freshly setup with a new set of Dragon Skin 10s this is a superb example of this iconic reissue Firebird. Comes complete with original hard case, inspection card and baby picture.
