Loic Le Pape – handmade Steel Guitars - The choice of metal comes from his experience in mechanics, and the steel body is exclusively used because he prefers its sound to that of other metals such as aluminium. The necks remain in wood: it is the combination of the two materials that gives the general tone of his guitars. The metal is protected by a special treatment and the varnish is often worked to simulate aging (a relic) in order to give a raw aspect.
New Loic Le Pape guitars are on a 9-month to 2-year order time and start from circa £3,300.
This 2018 L Steel Pl. Kid Doublecut model is finished in a relic Cherry Red and weighs about 3.3kg. The single Kent Armstong P90 is controlled by 1 x volume and 1 x tone knobs. The mahogany neck is a rounded C ’59 profile and is just right for a doublecut junior like this. The Rosewood fretboard and frets are in great condition with no visible fretwear. Comes complete with it original Loic Le Pape branded fitted hard case.
These are superbly built guitars that don’t come to market too often.
