Gibson introduced the Gibson SG '61 Reissue electric guitar to pay homage to their legendary 1961 SG Standard. Sporting that classic deep double-cutaway and bevelled edge carved into an all-mahogany body, the '61 Reissue looks and feels like its vintage counterpart.
After its introduction as a replacement to the Les Paul in 1961, the SG sits squarely in the realm of legendary solid body guitars. It remains one of Gibson's most popular guitars and one of the brand's top-selling models since its release, used by players like Tony Iommi, Jeff Tweedy, and Angus Young.
This 2023 SG has a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, over that classic Cherry colour. The Mahogany neck has a SlimTaper profile, adding to the vintage feel, and is topped with a really nice, smooth Rosewood fingerboard. The power comes from a set of open-coil 60s Burstbucker pickups, with a Burstbucker 61R in the neck and Burstbucker 61T in the bridge. The Maestro Vibrola tailpiece, with iconic lyre engraving offers smooth vibrato effects, and a set of vintage deluxe keystone tuners finish off the vintage look. The guitar is in mint condition and comes complete with its original Gibson tan case and baby picture.
