1933 J.G. Abbott & Co. Parlor Guitar

A very rare parlor guitar hand made by J.G. Abbot & Co. Ltd in London, England in circa 1933. The guitar is in superb condition, especially considering it is 92+ years old. The guitar has Rosewood (Brazilian?) back and sides with a Spruce top. We guess that it has been refinished at some point and that the Ebony bridge is a “modern” addition to the guitar – that said these alterations look to be at least 50 years old themselves. The machine heads look to be original to the guitar with one of the tuner buttons having been repaired in the past. The neck joins the body at the 12 th fret and has a lovely Ebony fret board.

The guitar only needed a light refurbishment from ourselves with some fretwork and re-fixing a bit of the binding. The guitar has a nice low action and has a brand new set of 11s on board – comes complete with its original fibreboard hard case which also includes original padded cover – a great quality handmade British vintage guitar.
