Product Details

The Hofner Senator was the "working man's" mid-range offering from Hofner in the '50s and 60's. Bound body and F-holes, and triple dot markers on the rosewood fretboard - This lovely blonde finished Senator is from 1957 and has a lovely flame maple to the back and sides. The guitar is all original, including the original tuners, Rosewood bridge and compensator tail piece.

The guitar has had one owner from new and is in pretty great shape for being nearly 70 years old. The neck has been reset so the guitar has nice low action and is good to go for another 70 years. The guitar does have a large loss of lacquer/finish on the lower bass side edge, guessing this is from owner resting the guitar on their thigh. The top is discoloured next to the bridge as it would appear that the bridge was in the wrong position for its first 70 years (now in the correct place) – and there are some very small marks to top side and back (see last 7 pictures).

There is no case with this guitar but you can add a brand new Hofner Archtop case for only £99 (normal price £128).
