1960 Hofner President Thin

The President was Hofner’s middle-of-the-range archtop throughout the 50's, 60's, and into the 70's. The Thinline electric version was introduced in late 1959 with some 680 being built with the rectangular control panel, with design changing to 4 rotary knobs in 1962.

This brunette President Thin has solid carved spruce top, with a single Venetian style body cutaway, with flamed maple back and sides. Triple dot fret markers, neck/F-hole binding, and vine leaf mother of pearl inlays to the headstock facia, provided a suitable level of ornamentation for this classy guitar. The twin “Toaster” pickups still produce that great vintage sound. Currently strung with flatwound strings the setup on this vintage classic is brilliant – comes complete with hard case.
