Hofner's answer to the Fender Jazz Bass was the very stylish looking Model 185, with its offset-waist. Introduced in late 1962 in the European market together with a version called the Artist Bass for Selmer customers. (The Artist differed from the 185 in that the majority of Artists do not have pickup selector slide switches).
This 1960s Artist Bass has been superbly refurbished and is in excellent condition. The body has been refinished and the bass has all new electrics including 2 modern Hofner Cavern Bass pickups. The rest of the guitar is all original including tuners, bridge and string anchor. The bass has been setup with a brand new set of Hofner round wound strings and comes complete with a brand new TGI Transit gig bag.
