Product Details

The Hofner "Clubs" were small hollow-bodied archtop guitars, and this version is the basic Club model with one pickup and very little decoration. Produced between about 1956 and 1962, and available in either blonde or brunette finishes. Both John Lennon and George Harrison played Club 40s.

This 1962 Hofner Club 40 is one of the last Club 40's made, with serial number 1732, and fitted with a single Type 510 "diamond logo" pickup. The pickup is controlled by the rectangular Hofner control consul, with one rotary volume control and three tone slide switches The brunette finish is in great condition with only a few small marks to show for the last 64+ years (see last 6 pictures). All original with the exception of the volume pot, the guitar comes complete with a modern hard shell case.
