Hofner's best known and most loved solid guitar the Galaxie was distributed by Selmer in the UK from 1964 to 1970. Similar in design to the Hofner 176 it has 3 Hofner Staple pickups, each with its own switch (providing a total of 7 pickup combinations) and individual tone control. Controls also include a master volume switch and a Rhythm/Solo switch. The body is finished in red cellulose with a bolt on maple neck, with a rosewood fretboards and the cool bar fret markers.
This 1964 model is all original (including the tremolo arm which is often missing) and is in fantastic condition – we have not had a Galaxie in the shop in such good condition. There is a small mark on the neck, some tiny marks to the body (see last 2 pictures) and we have replaced the worn felt on the bridge mute.
