Product Details

Along with its Rosewood counterpart, the D-28, the Martin D-18 stands as one of the true original dreadnoughts introduced by Martin in 1932. The D-18 made a switch from a 12-fret to a 14-fret instrument in 1934 and has stayed largely the same since. The D-18S uses the original 12-fret above the body, sloped shoulder dreadnought body and slotted headstock design of the D-18. Made from 1967 to 1993 the D-18S has a Mahogany back and sides, with a Spruce top, a 1-piece Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard. The scale length is 25.5” with a 47.5mm nut width.

This 1971 model is in really good condition, although it does have a number of marks to the top and body to show for its 55+ years of play (see last 9 pictures). The neck has been reset by ourselves so action is spot on and the guitar is all setup and ready to go for the next 50 years. Comes complete with period correct hard case.
