Product Details

Fender introduced the Jazz Bass in 1960 as a “deluxe” model to augment the Precision Bass. Since its debut, the Jazz has stayed remarkably similar to its original design.

This 1974 Fender Jazz Bass has a natural finished ash body and a rosewood fretboard with the pearloid block inlays. The serial number decodes as 1976, however, as we know Fender were not very consistent with their serial numbers during this time - the 4 bolt neck and the 1974 pot codes tell the real date. The bass is in great condition and has a nice setup with low action across the board. One of the volume pots has been replaced at some point and the scratch plate has been replaced. We suspect the replacement of the scratch plate is linked to the fact that the body has been routed out previously for a 3 rd pickup location (under the scratch plate), then filled in again.

The bass still sounds every bit as good as you would expect from a vintage Fender Jazz Bass.
