Product Details

Established in 1982 Fender Japan produced these JV Fender Stratocasters for the domestic market, in a response to the rising threat from Japanese-made guitar brands. The JV serial numbered guitars, known for their meticulous reproductions of vintage Fenders, quickly gained a reputation for surpassing their American counterparts in consistency and build quality. These guitars were not only accurate in design but also in fit and finish, making them highly sought after by collectors and players alike. These JV guitars represent a significant part of Fender's history and the partnership between Fender and Japanese manufacturers.

This 1983 ST -57 – 65 JV Stratocaster is from the first tranche produced by Fender Japan for their domestic market and is in mint / collectors grade condition. Bought by a Scottish collector from Ishibashi Music in Tokyo the guitar has remained un-played and unaltered since purchase and comes complete with its original tags, certificate, receipt etc. The guitar also comes with its “original” Fender hard case – these guitars were sold in Japan with a gig bag, however the purchaser bought a Fender case with the guitar to safely ship it back to Scotland.

Rare to find these Japanese domestic market JV guitars for sale in the UK – even rarer to find one in such immaculate condition – a very collectable guitar, however this is primarily because it is such a good quality Stratocaster and superb to play.
