Product Details

The iconic Gretsch White Falcon is as much a statement piece as it is a finely crafted instrument. First introduced in 1955 as model number 6136, with a price tag of $600 it was one of the most expensive production electric guitars of its day, and is still a bucket list guitar for many guitarists.

This 1990 model is from the early part of Fred Gretsch III ownership of Gretsch as he set about restoring the company’s reputation. Produced in Japan by Terada Gakki, the White Falcons of this period were faithful recreations of the classic 1950s and 1960s models, complete with gold hardware, Filter’Tron pickups, Cadillac style tail piece, signature neo-classical “thumbnail” inlays, gold-sparkle bindings, and that unmistakable white finish. These “modern” versions benefit from improved playability and reliability while retaining their vintage charm.

The guitar is in excellent condition and comes complete with Gretsch hard case. The white finish has aged to a nice vintage white colour and there is a small loss of gold finish to the neck pickup and the bass side of the bridge. There is also 2 small marks on the top of the headstock and 1 small mark on one of the side panels (see last 4 pictures). The guitar has been setup with a new set of Dragon Skin 10s.
