The Les Paul Standard Plus debuted in 1995 as an alternative to the normal Les Paul Standard of the same era, for those looking for a more luxuriously figured maple top than could be found on the average Standard. Everything is else is as the Standard of that period with a mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard, 490R/498T humbuckers and of course that figured maple top which looks stunning with the vibrant Cherry Burst finish.
This 2001 model is in mint condition having spent most of its life in a guitar collection. The fretboard and frets are clearly un-played and it is high time this guitar got the playing time it deserves. The guitar knobs have been changed to vintage style Gibson knobs, but the original knobs are in the case. The scratch plate has never been fitted to the guitar (you wouldn’t want to hide that top in any way) and whilst the bracket is in the case the scratch plate itself is missing.
The top has been subtly, and beautifully refinished (many years ago) by Andy Guyton, the effect really brings out the best of the AAA Maple top. The guitar comes complete with its original tan Gibson hard case.
