Zemaitis's guitars are based on designs by British luthier Tony Zemaitis, who died in 2002. The electric guitars were/are known especially for their unique metal and pearl front designs. After his death his guitar-making style was carried on by Zemaitis Guitars of Tokyo, Japan, led by his son, Tony Zemaitis Jr. The brand owned by Japanese Kanda Shokai Corporation, which manufactures the instruments in Tokyo. Kanda Shokai is also owner of Greco, another guitar brand.
This Limited Edition 2006 Greco Zemaitis GZ-22600IF / Heart model is in fantastic, near mint condition and comes complete with its original hard case. A great example of the high quality and craftsmanship from Zemaitis. The gloss black finish with its pearl inlays and heart inlay design is simply stunning. The bridge and tailpiece on the guitar are typical Zemaitis, substantial and beautifully designed. And is it not just about its looks – the comfortable slim C profile 24 fret neck is great fun to play whilst the power comes from 2 DiMarzio PAF humbuckers - easy to see why guitarists such as Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix, Marc Bolan, Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan have all taken to the stage with one of these beautiful guitars.
