2008 Gibson Flying V - Faded Cherry
The Gibson Flying V was introduced by Gibson in 1958, offering a radical, "futuristic" body design, much like the Explorer, which was released the same year,
The Faded version of the Flying V was billed as more affordable alternative to the gloss, nitro finished Flying Vs of the 2000s. Early examples feature an ebony fretboard with crescent moon inlays, but Gibson switched to a rosewood fretboard not long into the production run. This 2008 model is in superb, all original condition - the matt faded cherry stain looks really cool on the Mahogany body, although the guitar does have a few small dings and marks on the edges of the body (see last 5 pictures).
The tone comes from a pair of high output, snarly 490R and 498T humbucker pickups, which are wired through a straightforward control layout of two volume knobs, a master tone knob, and a three-way toggle switch. The guitar is easy to play and has been setup with a new set of DR Pure Blues 9s on board. Comes complete with brand new Ritter Carouge Flying V gig bag.
