The AVRI '52 Telecaster was created to replicate the classic 1952 Telecaster, one of Fender’s most iconic models, originally designed by Leo Fender in Fullerton, California. Fender introduced the American Vintage Reissue (AVRI) series in 1982 to return to the pre-CBS era specifications, producing instruments with authentic construction and vintage tonal qualities while avoiding inaccuracies of later CBS-era guitars.
The AVRI ‘52 has an Ash body, finished Butterscotch Blonde with nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing natural aging and checking over time, with the black scratch plate for that classic look. The one-piece maple neck has a U-shaped profile and rolled edges for a comfortable, "broken-in" feel.
The pickups are two American Vintage single-coil Tele pickups with Alnico III magnets for accurate 1950s tones, controlled by a master volume, master tone and a 3-way pickup selector blade.
This 2010 example is in mint, near unplayed, condition and comes complete with original tweed hard case.
