The 2016 Gibson Les Paul Tribute pays homage to the 1960's Les Paul.
The Les Paul Tribute really is more than the sum of its parts: Gibson opted to omit frivolities such as a bound neck and body, but did include old-school P90 pickups, premium electrical components, Vintage style Gibson Deluxe tuners and a lovely satin Tobacco Burst finish. These all combine to provide a superb US made Gibson Les Paul for less than £1k.
Prior to the rise of the humbucking pickup the early Les Pauls came equipped with P-90s. These P-90s have a well-balanced sound, a strong midrange, and the ability to bounce between clean and crunchy, when you really lean into it.
The guitar is in great condition and the satin finish Tobacco Burst looks fantastic. Frets and Rosewood fretboard have no visible wear. The guitar does have 3 small marks (see last 3 pictures); tiny mark to top of headstock and 2 indentations to the edge of the body – guitar comes complete with its original Gibson padded gig bag.
