The Faith Monarch Series by Patrick James Eggle is a super limited, high-end collection of acoustic guitars that showcases the craftsmanship and artistry of the UK-based luthier. This is the Mars Drop Dreadnought, crafted with a torrefied Sitka Spruce top and top-grade Khaya Mahogany back and sides giving it a full bodied and vintage tone. The guitar features a hand-applied burst finish, multiple coats of nitrocellulose lacquer, and premium appointments such as a celluloid tortoiseshell scratch plate and specially commissioned Gotoh 301 tuners with PJE-monogrammed machine heads and Ebony buttons.
There were only 8 of these built, and hand finished by Patrick Eggle. The finish is a gorgeous hand-burnished semi-satin finish - Glossier than a satin, but less so that a fully polished finish, hand-burnishing creates an extremely attractive yet understated appearance. This one has come direct from Faith having been part of unsold stock from a retailer that is no longer in business – so this is your last chance to buy one of these superb acoustic guitars, and at a decent saving against the original retail price of £3,299.
