This is a fretless, hollow body, bass from Godin, hand crafted in Canada. The double-cut black body, with aged white binding, combined with the unlined Ebony fretless fretboard and the gold tuners, make for a very cool, sleek looking bass guitar. It features a single piece chambered mahogany body, a solid spruce top, a hard maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard.
The lightweight semi-hollow body has a special resonating system built into the body – a series of metal pins that resonate with the body to give it a more organic timbre. The electrics are provided by the LR Baggs preamp, that boosts the piezo pickup sound, with a volume control and a 3-band equalizer. Sounds as close to a double bass as any electric bass we have played and a good level above the A4/A5 basses that followed.
The bass is all original and in fantastic condition. Setup with flat wound strings with very nice low action. There is a small mark to the finish on the lower edge, and a crack in the lacquer next to the bottom strap button (see last 2 pictures).
These basses are super rare, especially in the black gloss finish and in such good condition – Comes complete with a new TGI Extreme structured gig bag.
