Schenk Guitars is a well-respected and award-winning US manufacturer known for their custom acoustic guitars. Based in Washington State they have been in the business for over 20 years, offering a range of guitar designs, specialising in using a variety of tonewoods to create unique guitars.
The FE Grand Fingerstyle is the Schenk Guitar flagship. First produced over 20 years ago, it still remains one of the most popular body styles. Its tight waist and radical back arch provides a comfortable shape for ease of playing and a large interior volume for loud projection and forever sustain. FE Dimensions: Length42"; Lower Bout15.5"; Upper Bout 11."; Waist8.875"; Depth below bridge 5". The very comfortable mahogany neck has an Ebony fretboard with a 45.5mm nut width.
This model has a solid Spruce top with solid Ziricote back and sides – Ziricote is regarded as an excellent tonewood with characteristics similar to Brazilian Rosewood. The guitar is in excellent condition with only the tiniest of surface marks to the back to show for its age. There is also a small mark on the back of the neck but this appears to be under the lacquer and is smooth to the touch.
